A Trip Down Memory Lane

On August 16, 2009 Brad and I threw the party of our lives.  Yes- we had already lived together for 5 years (sinners we are), but it was time to officially celebrate our love and, more importantly, guilt our family and friends into travelling cross country to visit us.  The memories are still fresh in my mind.  It was legen-wait for it-dary!

We tried to give the day a personalized twist.  Cousin Mike made the bridesmaids’ earrings and I fashioned necklaces out of hummingbird pendants I found at the flea market (we got married at Mark West Lodge and Hummingbird Gardens).  Brad’s mom embellished my veil.  My mom made the favors.  We had cookies instead of cake.  Our tables were marked with stories our friends had written about us.  We had a Bossa Nova band (don’t worry- we also had a DJ . . . and yes- he played “I’ve Got a Feeling”).  And, of course, Sean Connery showed up!

The toasts were memorable- hilarious and touching!

The dance party was raucous and the libations were drunk heartily!

To sum it up- it was everything I ever dreamed of and I couldn’t be happier that I am spending my life with this guy!
